this dance performance is all about shaking and getting shaken up. the piece explores shaking as a movement, emotions and linguistic metaphor. the performance underscores issues about adaptation, empathy and commitment. shake is the smallest common denominator for all bodies – old, new born, ill, strong, safe and scared. nature has the potential to shake entire landscapes. people describe traumatic events in their lives as shaky. we all shake in moments of fever, strong emotions and sexual pleasure. one can also shake it on the dance floor, shake off uncomfortable experiences and shake up a room with ones presence. in the solo piece, tove sahlin shakes persistently for 45 minutes and her body is transformed in several stages and conditions. the audience is subject to a physical sensation of shake, not only through the performer, but also by means of sound, light and space. 25 shining, shaking and vibrating boxes shake with the performer and create additional spatial dimensions. the audience is invited to hold the boxes and move around in the space.

see etendus on raputamisest ning raputatud saamisest. raputamist uuritakse kui liikumist, tundeid ning keelelist metafoori. etendus rõhutab kohanemise, empaatia ning pühendumisega seotud probleeme. raputamine on ühisnimetaja kõikide kehade puhul – vana, vastsündinu, haige, tugev, turvaliselt tundev ja hirmunud. loodusel on võime raputada terveid maastikke. inimesed kirjeldavad oma elus toimunud dramaatilisi sündmusi raputusena. me kõik rappume palavikus, tugevate emotsioonide või seksuaalse naudingu käes. võib raputada ennast tantsupõrandal, endalt maha raputada ebameeldivaid kogemusi või lihtsalt oma kohalolekuga elavdada seltskonda. selles etenduses raputab tove ennast 45 minutit ning tema keha muundub erinevatel tasanditel ning erinevatesse seisukordadesse. publik pole allutatud raputuse aistingule mitte ainult esineja kaudu, vaid ka heli, valguse ja ruumi abil. 25 säravat, rappuvat ja vibreerivat kasti rapuvad koos esitajaga ning loovad kosmilisi dimensioone. publikul on võimalus hoida kaste ning liikuda nendega ruumis ringi.
