A period of video correspondence of recorded movements between the two performers became the manuscript for a performance. The individual gestures were placed into a sequence, connecting motion fragments from vernacular spaces and of contextualised actions. The live staging was an abstraction of the poses and actions from the video material as they were repeated with qualities and timing from the original performances.
From a video script, to a live staging, the next phase of this motion dialogue will be to use the last performance as a base for a re-staging that adapts to the venue and location at Notafe. With the movements in focus and a site-specific sensibility, the body as a performer will connect to the architectural space as a dimensional stage.
Purpose/Passion/Posture is a collaborative project
by Nadja Voorham and Louise Jacobs
Nadja Voorham is an artist born in the Netherlands and raised in Sweden. She currently lives and works in Amsterdam where she graduated from the audio visual department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in 2012. Her work spans over different mediums such as text, photography and performance. At the bottom of her practice lies an interest in the premises for human interaction and the rituals constituting it. Nadja has exhibited in countries such as the Netherlands, Portugal, the U.S, Sweden and England and is member and co–founder of the art collective Wiolators (http://www.wiolators.com/).

Louise Jacobs is a Norwegian artist, who currently lives and works in Copenhagen. Prior to her Fine Arts studies at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam (2009–2013), she holds a degree in modern dance from Alvin Ailey in New York (2006–2009). Since her graduation, movement, displacement, performance and text have been mobile means to explore the temporal and often sentimental tendencies rendered visible in the public domain. Looking for a protagonist to convey isolation and emotional rebounce, the body becomes a measurement for gestural action and transitory presence. Louise has been inserting poetic marks in various geographical and social contexts, both in exhibitions and public as well as private occasions. Her performances and text work have been shown on both sides of the Atlantic, such as The Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Poland, The U.S and Canada.
