IDOCDE (International Documentation of Contemporary Dance Education) - Documentation as translation process.

Abstract: Bodily knowledge is transmitted orally and kinaesthetically from person to person. Oral and physical transmission is inherent in dance and contributes to its specific manifestations. This limits the exchange among colleagues since it excludes the kind of reflection that a shared documentation process provides. IDOCDE..with its emphasis on somatic researches documentation as a translation process, and its relationship to inspiration, reflection, and description.
