Cope

”Cope” has  two different kind of worlds, one is surrealistic and another is more realistic.
These worlds are searching ways to meet each others through   physical movement, newspaper and cleaning mop.
The duet has been builded up with two graduated dancers from Outokumpu study programme, Päivi Vettenranta  and Nadja Pärssinen.
We researched the ideas in “Kanuti Kildi Saal” Residency in Estonia summer 2009 and later on we continued to work in Outokumpu dance program.
With this duet we were collaborated as well with  a choreographer Cruz Mata (Venezuela/Brussels) and Sara Gebran (Venezuela/Stockholm)
through "Super Residency" program in Stockholm.

"Cope" performance is a duet that has bouild up for urban space, which is open for public.
By working withe  public space we have been searching a ways how the world of the duet could collaborate in different  urban spaces, like
library, market or concerthall. We are interested of how a public space, like supermarket, or a shop, library could affect for the duet “Cope” performance.
How the communication with the people inside the space could happen, is one of the questions that is inspiringand is starting point for the collaboration.
